The biggest challenge for those who live in
small houses and apartments is knowing
how to optimize the space to meet all the resident's needs and, if possible, achieve a
spacious effect in the decoration. One way to achieve this is through
integrated environments : that is, eliminating walls and
joining the living room, kitchen, dining room and bedroom in the same square meter, without physical partitions . Another way is to invest in large panels, windows and glass doors. , which provide greater fluidity between environments as
natural light can pass through without intervention .

But we know that knocking down walls is not as simple as it seems, since they are fundamental to the architectural structure. So,
how can you achieve spaciousness in small spaces? The answer is very simple: through
mirrors . This ancient element, traditionally used in bedroom and bathroom decoration, can have its potential explored in much broader possibilities. See some examples below!
Decoration with mirrors

A space that allows for contemplation, opens up to the outside and blends in with it, the
Sala das Palmeiras is all about spaciousness. And not surprisingly: the view of Serra do Curral inspired the architects at
Estúdio Sala to create a type of
room- balcony , which harmoniously combines its minimalist décor with the shapes of nature.
The large mirror is like a sculpture , which serves as a divider and brings nature inside. The project was one of the most striking by
CASACOR Minas Gerais 2019 .
Tropical elements are everywhere: whether in the fabrics, natural fibers or even in the landscape that enters the
Billiard Room , by
Cristiana and Mariana Mascarenhas . The delicate decor is personified in the shade of pink, which runs through all the walls of this
monochromatic space . There are also two pieces of décor that do not go unnoticed: the yellow woven fiber
hanging armchair , one of the great highlights of the composition; and the
pair of fun mirrors that not only lengthen the gaze – giving the impression of the ceiling height being higher high – but also create a sense of depth desired by professionals. The environment was part of

In this apartment project in São Paulo,
Cacau Ribeiro wanted to bring a New York loft feel, but not so much with an
industrial decor . The living room was covered in gray bricks and decorated with renowned design pieces – such as the lamp by
Ingo Maurer and the Vivi armchair by
Sergio Rodrigues . The large
round mirror next to the dining table made the space feel youthful, giving the apartment a sense of spaciousness. The
parquet floor was reused, and the apartment's conventional doors were transformed into panels –
an interesting option for those looking to make the environment modern, spacious and elegant .

The
Sala Brasileira is a tribute to national design and brings together iconic pieces such as the Bola de Latão armchairs by
Lina Bo Bardi , alongside more contemporary creations, such as the Elle overhead sideboard by
Jader Almeida and the Nada se Leva sideboard. .
Caroline Kreling 's creation at
CASACOR Rio Grande do Sul 2019 aims to fulfill a very simple mission: to be like a
showroom for the best that Brazilian design has to offer . To this end, the mirror at the back of the living room is an assertive choice to bring amplitude and further reflect the beauty of high design pieces.
A relaxed lounge, full of colors and prints on every surface, welcomed visitors to
CASACOR São Paulo 2019. Lisandro Piloni 's
Foyer Bienvenue was created in a space measuring 12 meters wide and 5 meters high. Mixing elements of pop art with the classic base of
boiseries , the hall
mixes the new and the old with paintings and sculptures of contemporary art and modern furniture . The mirrors positioned over the ticket office area ensure that no detail is lost – also noteworthy is the
screen made of mirrors that enclose the living area and confirm the sophistication and cinematic glamour proposed in the environment.
