Kitchen island projects have stood out in the latest editions of
CASACOR and are proving to be a strong
trend in architecture for the coming years. After all, they offer
practicality to the environment and create a more welcoming space for receiving guests. Mainly designed for larger spaces, a
kitchen with an island is a good choice for those looking for a modern look. It allows you
to incorporate a cooktop and a built-in oven or even leave the
space free to help when cooking or entertaining friends . To help you get inspired when creating
kitchen islands, we have selected
10 spaces from past editions of
CASACOR that did well when betting on this
trend .

Investing in an island is a good idea when you have a
more spacious kitchen . Here, the project designed by
Toca Arquitetura invested in a
stone island - which is more practical for cleaning without sacrificing aesthetics. The light composition has this characteristic thanks to the union of several elements: island, wall in
earthy tones , hammock, wooden stools, etc. Exhibited at
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2019, the carioca charm is very present.

Practicality and sophistication: this was the result of the
kitchen project with island designed by the trio of architects Marcelo Diniz, Mateus Finzetto and Deise Pucci. The project was exhibited at
CASACOR Franca 2017 with the aim of gaining space without sacrificing sophistication in a
kitchen with reduced dimensions . Elements such as the cooktop and sink were incorporated into the countertop, which featured a wooden support that serves as a table.

Synonymous with elegance, Espaço Deca, by architect
Aline Cangussú , invested in a
central island in the kitchen in an L shape. In this way, she was able to create an interesting dynamic for those who are going to cook to maintain fluid communication with those sitting in the chairs. The project, which was exhibited at
CASACOR Bahia 2019, also featured straw elements to make the elegant atmosphere more natural and
cozy .

The
minimalist style took over this space. Named
Cucina Petra by architect Felipe Hess , the idea was to create a space with few but functional elements. The
kitchen with an island fits perfectly with this objective. The project performed well at
CASACOR São Paulo 2019, demonstrating practicality and innovation.
This kitchen designed by
Felipe Soares features an island that runs practically from end to end,
integrating all the essential items for the composition. It was an innovative and successful bet. The
cheerful and casual look of the terracotta countertop is balanced and in harmony with the style of the floor. It stood out at
CASACOR Minas Gerais 2019.
- Investing in a
neutral base and a
kitchen with an island ensures maximum use of space and good circulation and freshness in the environment. With this proposal,
Juliana Pippi presented her project at
CASACOR Santa Catarina 2019, showing that it is possible to create a beautiful design by investing only in light tones.

LG's Connected Home featured an
island in the kitchen that, in addition to being practical, also reaffirmed the minimalist style of the space. The project was designed by
architect Gustavo Neves and exhibited at
CASACOR São Paulo 2019. For the composition, he invested in graphite gray tones for a contemporary and out-of-the-ordinary look.
Lightness, integration and freshness are striking characteristics when we talk about the Alecrim
kitchen with island , by the duo
Bernardo Gaudie-Ley and Tânia Braida for
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro . Investing in a
space fully integrated with the
dining room , the idea was to incorporate all the fundamental elements of a kitchen in order to concentrate everything in a
practical and beautiful way.

The project featured a
large island that reflected the sophistication of the space. As it is a kitchen with
a double height ceiling , experts
Carolina Rousseau and Denise Bazzo invested in a higher counter with a side overlap of a wooden piece that served as a table to receive guests. The
kitchen with island was displayed at
CASACOR Paraná 2019.

Architect Érica Salgueiro did well when she invested in an
L-shaped countertop for her
industrial kitchen project. The island was completely designed to make the space more
practical . This is reflected both in the space to store stools and make the passageway clearer, as well as in the creation of a
flower box at the front. This
kitchen with an island was exhibited at
CASACOR São Paulo 2017.
