DECA agroforestry
CASACOR PiauíInnovation and Sustainability at DECA Agroforestry Deca Agroforestry is a landmark of innovation and sustainability that spans an area of 700m2 in the heart of CASACOR Piauí 2024. This space is a tribute to the rich culture of Piauí, with 150m2 of structures covered in traditional carnauba straw, forming an impressive sculptural pavilion. Inspired by nature, the pavilion's biomimetic design is composed of four distinct roofs that intertwine harmoniously, reminiscent of the treetops of a dense forest. Surrounding this architectural work, the edible garden is a spectacle of biodiversity. Native species, fruit trees, grains, vegetables and ornamental plants coexist, reflecting the diversity, design and sustainability of Deca products. Biophilia is the heart of this project, promoting a deep connection between man and the environment. Deca Agroforestry challenges the traditional notion of the environment as something distant, reinforcing that we are an integral part of a vibrant ecosystem. Local craftsmanship also takes center stage, with ancestral techniques that demonstrate the interaction between man and natural elements. This garden is not only a space of modern beauty and sophistication, but also a living example of how agroforestry techniques can mimic natural processes to create soil rich in micro-life. These principles are applicable in a variety of contexts, from family farming to large-scale cultivation, as they are essentially natural. By adopting these techniques, communities around the world are combating desertification and regenerating entire ecosystems. And we, as part of this global movement, are called to reflect: what legacy do we want to leave for future generations?
