Designed by the MATÚ Arquitetura office, with architects Gabrieli Azevedo, Fernanda Lins, Ana Pernambuco and Bruna Marchiori, the apartment located in the West Zone of São Paulo is home to a multi-species family : a couple, three cats and two dogs, one of which is disabled. visual.

With 250 m², the goal was to create a project that would combine the couple's interests and personalities . She is into the arts, literature and romance; and he is into music, records and industrial style.

A social area was created with the aim of meeting the needs of each person: a playground-shelf for the cats, a low, modular sofa to help with accessibility for the dogs, an office for the resident to work and play the guitar, and a large bench. below the window for the resident to have her moments of reading and display some pieces of art with sentimental value.
In the master bedroom, a large platform not only meets storage and accessibility requirements , but also organizes the sleeping environment in a comfortable way so that the whole family can stay together in a single structure, but each with their own space.

Furthermore, the piece was designed based on the clients' concerns about the animals' access under the box bed they previously had, with dangerous and difficult-to-reach gaps. The platform was the result of blocking this access, in addition to other functions. in relation to space optimization.

The highlight is the white metalwork shelving unit in the living room. The idea was to combine function and design in a piece of equipment that normally has little aesthetic appeal. The architects also had the freedom to use this element as a standout piece . with shapes and dimensions compatible with the scale of the apartment.

The kitchen , in turn, was designed with custom carpentry with rounded corners, in an attempt to avoid the obvious and minimize corners, thus bringing more differentiated shapes and functions.
