The view of Leme beach in Rio de Janeiro was the inspiration for this 180 m² apartment. Designed by architects Ricardo Melo and Rodrigo Passos — from the CASACOR RJ 2022 cast —, the project gained a timeless style with a palette based on light colors, punctuated in different shades of blue and green.

“In the social area, we chose neutral and light shades of gray and white, such as the cement-patterned porcelain flooring, and we added touches of blue to create a more natural relationship between the space and the sea ,” explains Rodrigo.

The residents — a couple with two teenage children — live in São Paulo and use the apartment during vacations and holidays, as well as making it available for seasonal rentals. To this end, they also asked for large, integrated spaces , with easy-to-maintain materials and many beds to accommodate guests.

The kitchen was integrated with the living room and the master suite was attached to the balcony and bathroom. “We proposed opening the kitchen to the living room because it is a seasonal apartment,” explains Ricardo.

The sea-colored tiles , designed by Mônica Camargo, define the kitchen, and the Tatu armchair, by designer Pedro Useche, makes up the contemplation corner in the living room.

The highlight is the carpentry solution designed by the duo to create a space attached to the guest room: when folded, the sliding panels integrate the small space into the living room; when closed, they create an extra guest room, complete with a sofa bed.
