A trend that marked the
CASACOR shows this year was a new way of inhabiting kitchens, much simpler, more practical and elegant. The so-called "
hidden kitchens " are nothing more than a new concept of space integrated with the social area, using carpentry to create a corner that, despite being discreet, is also very beautiful.

Thinking about kitchen decor has proven to be fundamental (and challenging) in recent years. This is because
more minimalist styles , which preach "less is more", began to stand out in decorations to create an atmosphere of calm and elegance. At the same time, the kitchen, which had always been a space that needed to have many items, was integrated into the social areas, and with this, the fear of "heavy hand" in the decor of the environment was greater, as it would be reflected throughout the entire room. space. Hidden kitchens come into play in this context and show that
a good carpentry project is capable of creating an environment that meets all these requirements . The idea is not to literally hide the kitchen and separate it into another room or section it off with walls, but rather to work on a project that makes it more discreet, focusing on simplicity.

The
Casa Å LEVE project translated the concept of "hidden kitchens" at
CASACOR São Paulo 2021. Designed by architect Gustavo Martins, the environment follows a minimalist line of Scandinavian architecture that runs throughout the space, including the integrated living room. Harmony prevails. The architect worked very well on the carpentry and invested in upper and lower cabinets to incorporate the appliances. A master island also helps to hold the
cooktop in a discreet and almost imperceptible way. “Everything was thought out so that we have a relatively compact kitchen, but one that is comfortable for the resident’s activities. The result was in line with what we had imagined”, says Gustavo.
Leo Shehtman - Social House. Despite being discreet, the kitchen does not necessarily need to be small. Espaço Viver Bem Perplan, designed by the duo Roberta Alonso and Mariana Oliveira, featured a "master kitchen" that occupies an entire wall. The use of more neutral colors draws attention to the natural and leaves the environment simple – without stealing the spotlight from the living room.
Alexandre Gedeon e Hugo Schwartz - Loft do Colecionador. (MCA Estudio/CASACOR)
The
Collector's Loft , designed by Alexandre Gedeon and Hugo Schwartz, deserves to be highlighted for creating a simple but strategic kitchen. The structure of the green cabinets creates impeccable harmony combined with the warm elements and colors that make up the space, while the arrangement is well distributed and allows maximum use.
Brunete Fraccaroli - Simplesmente Dourado. (Renato Navarro/CASACOR)
Simply Golden is a symbol of refinement and warmth. Brunete Fraccaroli opted for shades of white and gold that represent the new beginning we are experiencing post-pandemic. The hidden kitchen is yet another reflection of current times that brings subtlety and style, without overshadowing either the living room or the loft bedroom.
Respiro. Mariana Maisonnave - CASACOR SC 2021 (Lio Simas/CASACOR)
Another project that marked CASACOR in 2021 was "
Respiro ", signed by Mariana Maisonnave. The loft featured a neutral kitchen full of subtlety integrated into the living and dining room. The earth tones almost camouflage themselves with the wood, which reigns in the space, and bring a more delicate and discreet appearance to the kitchen.
