Alexandre Salles graduated from the School of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of São Paulo (FAU-USP) in 2001 and completed his master's degree in Urban Semiotics in 2009 at the same institution. He has worked in offices in São Paulo and has participated in national and international architecture competitions. In 2011, he founded Estúdio Tarimba, a multidisciplinary office focused on corporate, commercial and residential projects. He also provides design consulting and research. Salles is a full professor and coordinator of the undergraduate and graduate courses in furniture design at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in São Paulo.
