Classic bathrooms are back, proving that it is possible to combine a retro atmosphere with a modern and elegant style. The reinvention of these spaces is marked by the use of Provençal materials and textures, which create a true refuge full of personality and focused on relaxation.

The classic style is marked by a robust (sometimes rustic) composition that has elegance and sophistication as its main pillars. Luxury is also a strong feature, with clever ideas for timeless pieces that attract attention.

Bathtubs are now an ally in classic bathrooms, representing this more luxurious but also cozy side. The big change is that while these bathrooms were previously associated with great temples of beauty, today the idea is to bring this style even to environments smaller and more minimalist. Concern for rest and well-being has also entered the agenda of these environments in the new era.
This trend could be seen this year at CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2021, in spaces such as Bianca da Hora's Haman Spa . She combined the comfort of the bathroom with more retro pieces to bring elegance to the project. The architect innovated by using a light palette. and trendy items, such as the pendant and plants in the space – the technique known as Shower Plants .

Another project that innovated with a classic bathroom was the Deca Bathroom Room by Beto Figueiredo and Luiz Eduardo Almeida. The experts created an elegant space with noble pieces such as Portuguese tiles and a marble bathtub that would have belonged to Empress Teresa Cristina. To innovate, The bathroom became more relaxed with contemporary touches and a large tree planted right in the center of the space, bringing nature into the space in a unique and transformative way.

The prominence of metal items and copper colors has always been a strong characteristic of classic bathrooms. These textures have been preserved, but now appear combined with more neutral items that are not so prominent, just to bring back memories of the classic of the past with that of a décor contemporary.

Practicality has also become a rule in creating a contemporary classic bathroom. Bringing in elegant and beautiful items and being able to combine them with elements that make things easier for the residents is everyone's desire. The use of large mirrors has also become fashionable for bathrooms, especially in those with of reduced footage, to bring maximum amplitude and sophistication to spaces.
