Maximalist look exalts samba and more Brazilian roots at CASACOR SP

The project was designed by architect Marcelo Salum, who brings back memories of his childhood and pays homage to African culture.

Marcelo Salum - Morada do Samba. Embalado pela energia contagiante da música que povoa suas memórias de infância, o arquiteto Marcelo Salum homenageia a cultura africana neste projeto. “É um ritmo que mexe comigo”, diz. Do colorido das fantasias de carnaval à alegria das rodas de samba - retratadas numa pintura de Luiz Pasqualini - o ambiente de 200 m² incorpora diversas referências. Painéis de madeira reproduzem símbolos Adinkra, criados pelo povo Ashanti, da África Ocidental, e móveis desenhados por Marcelo e Frederico Cruz remetem aos emblemas presentes na obra do artista Rubem Valentim. The 200 m² space, named Morada do Samba , brings back the colorful carnival costumes and the joy of samba circles – portrayed in a painting by Luiz Pasqualini – as inspiration.

Wooden panels reproduce Adinkra symbols, created by the Ashanti people of West Africa, and furniture designed by Marcelo and Frederico Cruz refers to the emblems present in the work of artist Rubem Valentim .
