In 2021 – the year that marked the
return of CASACOR exhibitions throughout Brazil –, the general feeling was one of nostalgia: whether due to the
slow return to socialization or the memory of pre-pandemic life, the year was marked by a mix of excitement for the return of social gatherings and fear acquired during the year of seclusion. The fact is that public spaces, such as
bars, restaurants and cafes , were not yet viewed in the same way. Proof of this are the
gastronomic points of
CASACOR 2021 which, applying the best of architecture and design, were the perfect portrayal of the social moment: that is,
they prioritized open and well-ventilated areas , distance between tables and, often,
the search for contact with nature . This longing for a touch of green is represented both literally – such as in
vertical gardens , the
incorporation of native trees into architecture or in poolside cafés – and through the choice of
materials of natural origin , such as wood, bamboo and leather.
