Architect Gabriel Fernandes grew up in Praia Grande, on the coast of São Paulo. He began his career in a Fashion course, but changed his path to Architecture and Urbanism when he saw more job opportunities in this area. In his first projects, he began including handmade objects. He developed a sensitive eye for handicrafts at a young age, watching his mother, who is a craftswoman, work with her. He founded his own architecture firm, GF Estúdio 55 , and felt the desire to give more depth to his creations through research. Thus, in 2020, the Brasis que Vi project was born, which seeks to understand the different ways of living in the country. The lessons he learned on the road directly influenced his work, which began to give even more emphasis to his Brazilian roots. His space at CASACOR São Paulo 2024 gave so much prominence to the work of a community of women that the pieces are now part of the catalog of a São Paulo home decor store.
