Born in Presidente Prudente, Alex Hanazaki, one of the greatest names in contemporary Brazilian landscaping, says he is a product of CASACOR. With solid roots in the interior of São Paulo and a childhood and adolescence marked by his down-to-earth approach, Alex showed an early vocation for aesthetics – which is why he sought out a degree in Architecture and Urbanism. During his undergraduate studies, he was enchanted by the possibility of creating sculpted gardens that looked like true works of art. And so, shortly after graduating in 1998, he opened the office that bears his name, dedicated to landscaping and headquartered in São Paulo. Possessing a unique perfectionism and a keen eye, Alex establishes a permanent dialogue between nature and architecture in his projects, which is why he is considered one of the heirs to the creative legacy of Roberto Burle Marx (1909-1994). With projects throughout Brazil and abroad, he is the only Brazilian professional in the segment to receive the award from the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) twice: in 2014, for the garden of a country house in Bragança Paulista, SP, and in 2017 for the square designed for CASACOR São Paulo 2016.
