Decorating your home is almost a therapeutic task for those who enjoy it, and it has been proven that the elements adopted in the
décor can
contribute to the well-being of the resident. Small changes can bring impressive results that contribute to the
comfort and
welcoming of the home. Architect
Rafaela Costa , from Criare Campinas, firmly believes in this and says that
you don't need to invest a lot of money to change the style of your home . Below, we've put together some valuable tips from the expert to help you transform the feel of your home without having to make major renovations. Check it out:
Paint the walls
(Henrique Queiroga/CASACOR)
Colors are capable of expressing emotions, and that's why Rafaela Costa's first tip is
to change the paint on the wall . "Painting is a good way to
bring life to a space and there are countless possibilities to break away from the monotony:
more vibrant colors are in fashion, as are softer tones on half walls, sectorized paintings and paintings with textures", he explains.
(Gabriela Daltro/CASACOR)
Another alternative is to use paint to
create shapes on the wall that bring a more innovative and creative feel. At
CASACOR São Paulo this year,
Wesley Lemos opted for organic shapes in his project – which brought a
youthful and
casual feel to the space.
Customize an old piece of furniture
Giving an old piece of furniture a new look can also be a strategy for changing the environment. Instead of buying a new piece, you can paint an old one and completely transform it. "Vintage design is a great way to
renew and
bring back memories affective ", concludes Rafaela.
Invest in decorative objects
(Denilson Machado/CASACOR)
Do you know those ornaments that can be bought in any decoration store? They are cheap and
can highlight strategic points in the house . "Decorative objects are practical and cheap:
vases ,
books ,
table accessories ,
sculptures . The idea is to enhance objects that have value sentimental and bring a little of the identity of those who live there”, he recommends.
Decoration with plants
Plants have several benefits for the home:
they harmonize the environment, purify the air and, as a bonus, bring life to the house .
"Placing a few small vases occasionally is enough to
increase well-being . They can be used on shelves, in niches, in smaller vases on tables and countertops, or in larger vases on the floor. Those who want to invest a little more can opt for a
vertical garden ”, says Rafaela Costa.
Change the lighting
(Henrique Queiroga/CASACOR)
Lighting is essential and changing the type of light bulb makes all the difference. In the bedroom, for example,
replacing white light with yellow is recommended to create a more welcoming and relaxing environment.
In addition, it is possible to opt for
different lighting models that bring their own style to the environment: "We can work with floor lamps, wall lights and pendants that bring a touch of design. In addition to these options, nowadays we use ribbons and dots a lot. LED in projects – this gives a lot of personality to the environment".
Mirrors in decoration
Mirrors aren't just for decoration – they also have the function of making
a space feel larger . "Ideal for small spaces, they improve lighting and create a luxurious feel," says the architect.
Bet on works of art
Art is Rafaela Costa's last tip for giving life and personality to a space. " You don't need to buy a very expensive piece of art : any artistic expression, such as paintings, crafts, sculptures, photographs and musical instruments can be part of the decor and give it a unique touch." more personality to the environment”, he concludes. The use of art was very present in several environments at
CASACOR in 2022 – as well as in several other editions of the show. We can give as an example
Sérgio Conde 's bet for
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro in the project signed as "O Canto do Poeta", in which the architect used different works of art to compose the
décor .
