Retrofit is a process that aims to restore old buildings, preserving their original architecture as much as possible. This was the challenge posed to the architectural firm Dal Pian Arquitetos , which led the restoration process of the Bravo Paulista Building. The building is located in one of the most exclusive areas of the capital of São Paulo, in the Jardins region. Perpendicular to Alameda Santos, the building is located in sequence with the Scarpa Building, on Avenida Paulista.

The interior spaces also gained prominence in the retrofit. Well-being was the main focus, and the architects adopted passive and bioclimatic strategies to make the space cooler, prioritizing the entry of natural light and open spaces to ensure adequate ventilation. retrofit prédio jardins são paulo The windows, for example, have enlarged openings that are protected by a "bio-blind skin" - which is highlighted on the façade. This skin is composed of metal uprights fixed to the structural elements of the façade, which support aluminum panels with random perforations, that do not interfere with the visual perspectives that the work areas offer.

In the body of the tower, the front and rear facades receive environmental protection in horizontal aluminum profiles that, also fixed to metal uprights detached from the building , visually unify the floors. The new and enlarged frames, with high thermal performance glass and low solar reflectance, expand the views, promote natural cross ventilation and enhance the building .
