Outside, there were two parking spaces. But on party days, the room couldn't accommodate the guests. There was also a lack of a quiet corner, near the plants, to be alone, reading or smoking. "A place where everyone could be alone yours, like in those old houses in the countryside. This makes a difference in a city like São Paulo”, says the resident. Why not occupy a section of the garage, then? Covered with glass panels over a metal structure, the area closest to the living room , with 13 m², has a strategic sliding door. It divides the inside and outside – and also protects in the rain. Created by designer and artist Marcelo Zocchio, it uses wood found in dumpsters and demolition sites, such as ipê and peroba. I used scraps of rafters, decks and flooring. To seal it, I used polycarbonate,” he says. This transparency guarantees the garden-living room atmosphere.

- Less rain: as a complement to the door design, pieces of peroba wood boards close the gap left below the roof.

- Pure lightness: the polycarbonate panels compensate for the weight of the raw wood frame.
