What should the perfect environment be like for long-awaited reunions after a long period of social distancing? For Mônica Costa, it needs to be light and delicate. It needs to be outdoors and, above all, offer intense contact with nature. This is how she presents her Praça do Abraço at CASACOR Ribeirão Preto 2021. To build it, Mônica used references from rooftops she has visited in cities such as Copenhagen and Amsterdam: the neutral colors of the floor and furniture provide tranquility and, at the same time, make room for the green of the trees, shrubs and palm trees to predominate. In the composition of tropical foliage, an essential characteristic of her projects, her preference for guaimbê, a native Brazilian shrub, is clear. The draining floor is customized, as is the furniture.
