French designer Mathieu Lehanneur presents his three new projects that have just been “baked”. The first is Clover : an urban light installed in front of the Ministry of Ecology in Paris, made of ecological solar panels and innovative wood technology. The piece is an ecosystem of urban objects that brings the city of tomorrow into the present moment and was designed from a wooden structure digitally sculpted according to a unique industrial process. Clover was made at the request of the Poitou-Charentes region of France, which makes environmental excellence one of its priorities. The design of this urban light paves the way for an innovative and humane ecology.
The second project is the Audemars Piguet Spring VIP Lounge : Inspired by the birthplace of the prestigious Swiss watch brand Audemars Piguet, the Vallée de Joux - Le Brassus/ Switzerland, the space entitled MINERAL LAB was also created by Mathieu Lehanner. The iconic rocks of the initial concept are integrated into a plant wall and a sound installation by the artist Alexandre Joly, a Frenchman living in Switzerland, as well as an exhibition of exceptional women's watches from Audemars Piguet collections dating from 1900 to 2015. Presented for the first time at Art Basel Hong Kong, the space is inspired by the world of science, nature and technology and integrates Audemars Piguet's "horological savoir-faire" into the plant wall woven throughout the space. Alexandre Joly recorded the sounds of nature around the Brassus and combined them with those of the Audemars Piguet manufacture and museum. Combining natural and industrial sounds with the rocks created by Lehanneur, whose molds were prepared directly from the rocks of the Vallée de Joux, and the plant wall, the result is a beautiful installation where master watchmakers give live demonstrations. Le Brassus transports you to Art Basel with all its magic and interactivity.
The third project is the Smoke Onyx Rose : Also a lamp made by Mathieu Lehanner in a limited edition for the Carpenters Workshop Gallery, which is on display at Miami Art Week. Piece made of blown glass and pink onyx.
