From August 9 to 14, CASA COR Arte & Design will host the CASA COR 3XDESIGN exhibition, bringing together the best of furniture, lighting, gastronomy, fashion, jewelry, the automotive sector, art and crafts. The event will motivate visitors to value aspects of three regions, with different cultures – Brazil, Italy and Cariri – exploring what in Europe is called the “F”s of a lifestyle and design culture: Furniture, Food and Fashion.

Each region will have its own pavilion, where the public will be able to explore all of this through the five senses: Sight: design, photography, cinema, painting, sculpture, geography; Smell: essences, smells and perfumes; Taste: gastronomy; Touch: textures, arts, objects; and Hearing: music, sounds of nature.

The project is curated by Pedro Ariel Santana, Director of Content and Relationships at CASA COR , and the regions are also co-curated by big names such as Ricardo Bello Dias, an architect who currently lives and works in Milan, responsible for the Italy pavilion, and Ana Virginia Furlani, architect responsible for the Cariri pavilion.

“The idea of MOSTRA 3XDESIGN is to portray Brazil’s current technological development, showcasing our most competitive design. The comparison with the success of Italian design is almost automatic, as the country is our great reference. However, we cannot lose sight of see our roots, our deepest culture, represented here by Cariri”, explains Pedro Ariel Santana.

Brazil, Italy and Cariri

In the space dedicated to Brazil , visitors will see the industrial and urban country of the south and southeast, which produces furniture, objects, automobiles and fashion with added value, aligned with the best of international design.

In the space of Italy, a reference in design worldwide, the focus is on the country that rose again after the war, thanks to an iconic, friendly, beautiful and symbolic design. The excellence of Italian brands known and loved by Brazilians is present, with a selection of products signed by designers such as Achille Castiglioni, Alessandro Mendini, Antonio Citterio, Patricia Urquiola, Piero Lissoni, Studio Pinifarina, Maurizio Catelan, among others.

The Cariri pavilion – an isolated region in the Northeast of Brazil – portrays this true oasis in the backlands, with a rich cultural production, linked to the religiosity of its people. These religious elements are mixed with vernacular objects and popular art, creating a cultural manifestation that endures with time. A great religious and political leader of Cariri, Father Cícero, even today, more than 80 years after his death, draws crowds to pilgrimages, processions and penances, enhancing the artistic and cultural manifestations of the region and is one of the icons of the space.
