To compose Caminhos Portinari , at CASACOR SP 2024 , architect Melina Romano – heading the studio of the same name – proposed a sensorial experience guided by art, comfort and calm. With an entrance hall that resembles a gallery, it invites visitors to slow down and enjoy the air of tranquility reinforced by the chromatic palette of light and soft tones, as well as cozy lighting. The curated art, which defines the project, reflects the passion shared between Portinari and the architect invited to take over the space. “Melina has art in her DNA. All of her works have this sensitivity that ranges from the curation of artists to the choice of colors and shapes... All of this is very much in line with our profile”, comments Francine Nuernberg, spokesperson for the brand.

With the intention of enhancing the effervescent national artistic scene, Melina chose to showcase some rising talents along the way. “We select the works first of all. When conceptualizing, we decided on four artists in different versions in each room of the house. This choice was made with a view to the new because we wanted to bring unknown – or little-known – names”, comments Melina. This objective even extends to the selection of furniture. “We highlight designers who are inspired by the tradition and legacy of classic Brazilian furniture in addition to promoting a contemporary vision, valuing our cultural heritage”, says the architect who included throughout the 200 m2 items by Tiago Curioni, Estudiobola, Estudio Latino de Design , Studio Reyes, Vinícius Siega, Estúdio Niz, etc.

In this rich setting, Portinari coverings therefore appear in perfect harmony with the interior architecture, starting with the material that covers the entire floor and walls: the Mezzo ballast collection, a reinterpretation of travertine. The covering even serves as a backdrop for the triptych in earthy tones by Anthony Mazza, in the living room, discussing the artist's experiences in the interior of São Paulo, flat shapes and open spaces – in total, there are nine paintings by him spread across Caminhos Portinari. Still in this spacious living room, along the sofa, Melina presents an unusual decoration solution: the delicate side table developed with Luce di Luna covering, inspired by Italian Quartzite Luna marble.

The route continues in the kitchen, which draws attention to the island's covering, the Artcraft release, with rounded corners that are perfectly applied to curved walls. The handmade and decorative ceramics by Isadora Mourão complete the decoration of this area and also establish a dialogue with the natural shapes of the hanging garden designed by florist Aline Matsumoto, under the honeycomb ceiling of the dining room in the center. Further back, a small studio with a holographic acrylic shelf displays handcrafted ceramic creations and plays with the futuristic trend in the space. Just ahead, the work table, again made using Luce di Luna ballasts, reinforces the versatility and employability of the material for use in custom-made furniture. On the side, another highlight of the curation: the sculpture from the Dormentes series developed by Lucas Simões, another talent handpicked by Melina Romano.
Following the path, the couple's suite evokes a timeless atmosphere, with neutral tones and a mix of textures – all harmonizing with the headboard wall made of porcelain from the Fillet collection, a thin and sophisticated slat.

In the background, the reserved bathroom has a countertop also developed in Luce di Luna ballasts, the perfect combination with Deca accessories; and, in the wet area, the Croma launch with a natural finish guarantees a spa and relaxation atmosphere – reflecting the comfort and sophistication of the entire composition.

For the architect, the purpose of Caminhos Portinari is to point out new directions. “In this space of discoveries and encounters, we hope that each visitor finds their own path. May the experiences lived here change routes, adjust perspectives and renew souls”, wishes Melina. According to Fabiana Melo, Communications, Branding and CRM manager at Dexco, the brand seeks to move the public through art and provide a unique experience. “ Portinari ’s essence is to create products that will make people experience different emotions and unique moments in environments. And it is this feeling that we seek to deliver to visitors to the exhibition with the environment created by Melina, awakening warmth, elegance and artistic expression”, he summarizes. In addition to Caminhos Portinari , the brand is also present in 30 other CASACOR SP environments.
