Juliana Cascaes, an architect from
CASACOR Mato Grosso , drew on the source of ancestral wisdom to create her project for the show in Cuiabá, entitled
Caminhos Deca . In 60 m², the professional created a bathroom that invites you to delve into the traditions of indigenous peoples, especially those from Mato Grosso, the state where she spent much of her life and with which she is intimately connected. Balancing delicacy and sophistication, Juliana does this through the meticulous choice of elements, colors, materials and the rich artistic production of the region.
“Here in Mato Grosso, we have a very strong connection with indigenous peoples, whose philosophy has always sought a harmonious and respectful coexistence between man and nature. Water appears as a central element not only in its material aspect, but also because of its symbolism. It is present in countless myths of these populations, including those that speak of the creation of the world. It is considered a sacred gift by them. Thus, Caminhos Deca makes reference to the course of waters and invites us to connect with nature and reflect on the logic of relating to it,” explains the architect.
Right at the entrance to the space, an artificial lake bordered by stones is reminiscent of the region's rivers. The waterfall brings a calming and welcoming sound of nature to the space. The forests are represented in the background by a green wall. The use of Portinari's
Mezzo BE Nat flooring is reminiscent of the veins of natural stones. Also on the floor, demarcating the common area composed of the
Deca Senses Bathtub with White Deck , the
Deca You Round Black Matte Single Lever Bathtub Mixer and the
Acqua Plus Shower with Dark Anthracite Diverter and the central island composed of the
Liquid Support Basin , the
Deca You Memphis Spout and
Black Matte Square Tap Activation , Portinari's
Maracangalha Decor NO NAT flooring is used, referring to ceramics, a characteristic of indigenous production. Also present in the space are the
Mezzo Decor Max BE ETR porcelain tiles, also by Portinari, and the MDF wood finish by Duratex.
Two bathrooms are part of the space, offering privacy to the couple. The project's identity is reinforced by the choice of earthy tones for the walls, which house the
Slim Round Countertop Sinks in Soft Anthracite ,
Conventional Carrara Basins in Matte Ebony ,
Deca You Memphis Spouts and
Deca You Square Taps in Matte Black . Accessibility is present in two bathrooms equipped with
LK Conventional Suspended Matte Ebony Basins ,
Slim Rectangular Suspended Sinks with Matte Ebony Deck ,
Level Chrome Tabletop Tap and the
Comfort Line with Grab Bars .
The décor includes a mirror and a Cuiabá chair, created by Sérgio Rodrigues in the 1980s especially for the iconic Eldorado Hotel. The use of straw on the ceiling is reminiscent of indigenous huts and basketry. To help create this unique atmosphere, Juliana Cascaes invited none other than Denilson Baniwa to be the artistic curator of the space. Known internationally for his work that combines contemporary art and ancestral traditions to promote the culture and rights of indigenous peoples, in addition to the curation that includes local artists, Denilson himself has created a work for the space.
"A key theme that permeates all discussions about the future of humanity is development and innovation in different areas, creating a dialogue that combines tradition and innovation. Our work is focused on this. We think of products that not only meet functional needs, but also integrate harmoniously into different contexts. The Caminhos Deca project by Juliana Cascaes works on this with excellence, reinforcing our search for new forms of expression in interior design", highlights Fabiana Melo, Branding, Communication and CRM manager at Deca.
