Landscaping and gastronomy come together in the Chefs' Garden at CASACOR SP

Janaína and Jefferson Rueda are the chefs honored in the space, which explores the five senses and interaction with nature

Landscaping and gastronomy come together in the Chefs' Garden at CASACOR SP

There is a lot of talk about the importance of contact with nature, but João Jadão and Catê Poli's space at CASACOR São Paulo takes this relationship to an even more interesting place. The landscaper and architect designed the Chefs' Garden, which combines functionality and sustainability in 250 m². The duo opted for a composition of tropical foliage and species, as well as a selection of fruit trees, edible flowers and spices that fill the place with aromas. The plant-ingredients take center stage in several spaces, in the project that pays homage to two important names in gastronomy. Brazilian: the couple Janaína and Jefferson Rueda. They are in charge of the renowned Bar da Dona Onça, A Casa do Porco and Hot Pork, in the center of São Paulo (SP). To create the garden, João and Catê created a balanced mix. “We took advantage of the trees that already existed at the Jockey Club of São Paulo and incorporated new native fruit species, such as jabuticaba and grumixama, edible flowers and spices, exploring different particularities,” says Catê. Poli, which also highlights the Yucca Coccinea plant. It is a xerophyte originating from Texas (USA) and is highlighted, next to the pergola. The vases are shaped like pebbles and are made of polyethylene. The material was developed from sugar cane and is fully recyclable.

“More than just bringing nutritious food into your home, having a vegetable garden and orchard integrated into your garden is an experience that explores your senses and brings you into contact with nature,” explains João Jadão. From the hammock, you can enjoy the space in peace. .

The garden is also designed for socializing, with seating areas that also provide shelter for those who want to take a break or enjoy the scenery. The furniture is made of nautical rope, such as the chaise from the Amado line. Inspired by the Bahian writer Jorge Amado, it has Designed by Alfio Lisi. The piece in Living Coral brings the color of the year, chosen by Pantone, to the composition. The color palette stands out in the garden and also explores earthy tones, indigo blue and iridescent fabrics in blue and orange.

Some coffee tables were made with pequiá and itaúba trunks. The gas fireplace is automatic, operated by remote control. According to Catê Poli, the entire garden can be reused, from plants, furniture and even the lamps. “We chose not to do nothing built, so that the garden can be taken to other places thanks to the reuse of its entire composition”, he states.
