The online course program, called
Genius Loci , featured an extremely important difference:
Giulio Cappellini . An emblematic figure on the international design scene, the Italian art director and designer was the creator and mentor of the unprecedented course in Brazil, the result of the partnership between
Istituto Marangoni and
CASACOR . Cappellini is recognized worldwide as a talent scout, always driven by his tireless curiosity. The presence of the professional as the course curator was an opportunity for all participating architects to exchange professional experiences with a master. The workshop had a theoretical and a practical part, and offered a comprehensive overview of reflections on the future of living, the new directions of the market, its main paths and trends and the necessary appreciation of Genius loci, a Latin term that refers to the "spirit of the place", a set of elements that make a given region have a specific culture governed by ancestral knowledge. The practical part of the workshop, presented today, proposed a challenge to the architects: to design an Ecoresort by studying the Genius Loci of its implementation. See first-hand the results of some projects that were presented in the course that ended today.
1. Serra Eco Resort Project, by Junior Piacesi, in Minas Gerais
The Eco Resort Serra Project is a reimplementation of the project created for
CASACOR Minas Gerais 2019.
2. Ozcar Urban Resort, by Linda Martins in Minas Gerais
"For me, the course was extremely enriching as it showed different paths and how we can use technology to our advantage, without losing our identity, our art, manual work, which is exactly what sets us apart and gives us value," says Lais Kruschewsky, architect.
4. Eco Resort, by Greisse Panazzolo, in Rio Grande do Sul
5. Eco Resort, by Raphaela M. Ozório, for the mountainous region of Paraná
"This course made me want to study and explore more about the world of sustainability and the cultural heritage of places. It was a turning point to discover post-pandemic trends. In addition, it is worth highlighting the incredible way in which the course was conducted, the professionals who took part, the material used in the classes, and the concern in giving us as much information and examples as possible to apply in our work. I found it extremely professional."
6. Sobradinho Resort, by Denise Postal, in Rio Grande do Sul
About the work, architect Denise Postal commented: "I learned about the concept of Genius Loci in the course and realized, intuitively, that it has always been present in my work. But when you really understand what it is and realize the impact, the personality that it can bring to your project, it changes everything."[newsletter]
