Biodigestion: equipment promises to transform organic waste into energy

According to data from IPEA, the Institute of Applied Economic Research, 52% of the total volume of waste produced in Brazil is composed of organic material. This waste is sent to landfills and does not receive appropriate treatment. With the aim of reducing this number, HomeBiogas was developed to reuse waste by encouraging smart recycling.

The result of an Israeli company, the intelligent system is coming to Brazil with the aim of transforming food waste into gas-powered energy. HomeBiogas is designed to be handled entirely by the user, who must stimulate the reproduction of bacteria. After adding 100 liters of animal manure and water, gas begins to be produced in up to two weeks. The gas is stored and can be used indoors.
The digester produces up to three hours of gas per day, in addition to a natural liquid biofertilizer, which can be used in gardening and agriculture. Fruit, vegetable, meat, dairy and even bone remains can be disposed of.

During CASACOR São Paulo 2018 , SysHaus , designed by Arthur Casas, also had a similar biodigestion system. The product was developed to transform organic waste into gas for the fireplace and also for the kitchen, as well as fertilizer for the garden or vegetable patch and sockets for electric vehicles.
