Six years after the fire in the Simón Bolívar auditorium, in 2013, the Memorial da América Latina receives the four Memorial High Armchairs , by Oscar Niemeyer , restored by ETEL . The initiative is the result of a partnership between the Oscar Niemeyer Foundation and Etel, the company responsible for re-editing the master's pieces, which set out to restore the four armchairs using a rigorous methodology of fidelity to the original designs. According to Lissa Carmona, curator of ETEL, " The company is committed to preserving the memory of Brazilian design, and Oscar Niemeyer 's armchairs are important objects in this history. The donation of the chairs to the Foundation reaffirms our purpose."
