The Masters Chair was created in 2010 by Philippe Starck and Eugeni Quitllet to pay homage to the work of three modern masters. The piece is a combination of the back silhouette of Jacobsen's Series 7 Chair , which joins the Eameses' Molded Shell Chair and also Saarinen's Tulip Armchair to create something new. Now, Kartell’s Masters Chair is the centerpiece of a charitable initiative in Montpellier, France, to improve children’s health services and research by AMPA (Monegasque Association for Research on Alzheimer’s Disease) .
