Visual artist
Alê Jordão is once again present during the 61st edition of
Salone del Mobile in Milan, from 18 to 23 April, the largest and most important global event in the sector, and also the anchor of
Milan Design Week . Also known as the "light man" in the international artistic world, the artist brings to MDW 2023 the neon installation "
Carnaval ".
"I was enchanted by the extraordinary scenic, surrealist and pop work of the former Lutrario cinema, now
Dancing Le Roi , in Turin, Italy – a project from 1959", explains Jordão, who was inspired by the playful and colorful lighting effects designed by architect
Carlo Mollino . The Brazilian artist's irreverence also transforms one of the rooms at
Galeria Colombari into a real dance hall, with five 1.60m-high
neon lights in the colors yellow, blue, orange, green and pink.
