Brazilian art and design are everywhere at CASACOR SC 2022

The very location where CASACOR Santa Catarina 2022 will take place is already an indication of what the event intends to do. The century-old building of the Silveira de Souza School, in the center of Florianópolis, listed as a Historical Heritage site, preserves part of Brazil's architectural memory and sets the tone for valorization of what is national. Within the spaces, regional works of art, objects made by small artisans, furniture from local brands or renowned designs bring the country's culture to the 27th edition of the event. In the Meu Particular Infinito environment, designed by Anna Maya , the sophisticated and impressive home theater room gains special contours with the decorative light with design by Luciana Martins Rosa . There are 16 aluminum pendants, centered in the space, with automotive matte gold paint, which highlights the predominant terracotta tone. Two wall lights, also by the designer, complete the scene, highlighting the large canvas painted by artist Camila Saavedra especially to compose the living room concept.

At Lumino Galeria and Banheiros Funcionais, spaces designed by Thais Giusti and Bel Mercadante , from the GiustiMercadante Arquitetura office, the collection of images “Redes”, produced by renowned photographer and artist Tonico Alvares , appears next to the Concha Painho swing, designed by Marcelo Rosenbaum & Fetiche , which features a unique weave on the high-back backrest.

In the Women's Bathroom, the Oh!take Home covering, from the line developed by architect Ruy Ohtake , brings an elegant and smooth concrete to the space, which also has the Fat armchair by Estudio Bola, in carbon steel and covered in caramel natural leather.

Authorial design

Architect Leandro Sumar brought the Seperti Mimpi environment, inspired by the beach, to the exhibition. The highlight of the space is the work “Fluir” (Flow), created by the professional himself, which depicts a surfboard flowing across the canvas as if it were in the water.

The space's rustic, sustainable and exclusive furniture was made by designer Elias Lanzarini , from Elaya Design, including a screen made from wood from abandoned fishing boats and fishing nets that would otherwise be discarded. Other highlights include the tulip bed by Brazilian designer Aristeu Pires and the artwork of Aukai Gyotaku, with a Japanese technique that depicts marine life.

Architect Juliana Loffi , creator of the colorful Casa Vou de Rosa , launches a furniture collection during the show, designed while she was hospitalized for cancer treatment.

Loaded with feelings, the pieces feature organic lines and a versatile and flexible use. They include a makeup bench, a dining table accompanied by a sofa, a bar, a bedside table, a bed, a tea trolley, a hinged closet and shelves.

Architect Michael Zanghelini proposes in his "Living" a welcoming living space, marked by pieces with a lot of personality, such as the crystal lamp that references the Capricorn Constellation , designed by the professional and executed by Lampluz, which is one of the points highs of the environment. Vibrant and striking works of art, with strong colors and a predominance of red, are present in the space. All were created by local artists, such as Alexandre Freire, Vicente Perin, Patrícia Vieira and Mariana Boro.

Consecrated pieces

At the Undici Reveev Refuge , designer Fernando Luiz Dal Bosco created a cozy suite in which the main highlight is the bed he designed. Named Refuge, the piece will be sold after the show. Although inspired by Europe, Brazilian design has a strong presence presence in the space, with pieces by renowned names such as Sergio Rodrigues , Guilherme Wentz and Mauricio Bonfim. Ceramic vases from Bahia, pieces by artisans and paintings by local artists further enhance the value of what is national . In the environment, there is still space for some special finds, such as the lamp by Adriana Yazbek and the antique vases.

At Chez Odara , architect Marcelo Salum presents a living room with decor inspired by the song Odara, by Caetano Veloso . In homage to Brazilian popular music , original works by photographer Vania Toledo, which portray great names of MPB, such as Gal Costa, Roberto Carlos , Erasmo Carlos and Nara Leão, in addition to Caetano Veloso himself, are the main focal point. Artist Juliano Aguiar created the sculpture “The Faun” especially for the space. Pieces by national designers such as Roberta Banqueri, Guilherme Wentz and Rejane Carvalho Leite are also present. The space’s soundtrack, curated by Marcinho Costa, features a selection of of Brazilian music. Architect Natália Xavier brought to her space Devaneios, inspired by a young lawyer, a place of refuge from the stressful routine, with a predominance of wine color and wood tones. In the loft , organic shapes blend with contemporary design pieces by names such as Aristeu Pires, Inês Schertel and Victor Vasconcelos, and with handicrafts made from waste wood. Two compositions of paintings “Memórias”, by Bahian artist Irley de Jesus , bring a touch of poetry to the space. The Allora room , by architect and urban planner Gabriel Bordin , was inspired by a more organic way of living, in which changes in space, from time to time, are necessary to keep up with life's transformations. For this purpose, the white base was chosen, bringing a fluid air to the space that comes to life through the works of art on display. Among the works, the highlight is the large canvas by Rubens Oestroem that frames the bar, the painting “Passeio”, by Pedro Silva, above the sofa, and the woodcut by Fábio Dudas. There are also works from the Helena Fretta gallery and designer furniture, such as the Ouro Preto armchair and the Guarujá dining table by Jorge Zalszupin.
