The bathroom got a new look at CASACOR São Paulo 2019 with the project by Lucas Takaoka. The professional presents the Terraço Nohara, combining a functional bathroom with a waiting area with furniture of his own design. Only a few glass enclosures delimit the space , with a wooden structure and fully integrated into the surrounding landscape.
“It’s like a terrace in the middle of nature. That’s where the name Nohara came from, which means field in Japanese,” reveals Lucas Takaoka, who chose materials that also contribute to the light look. He used pine wood in the structure, combined with concrete, glass and metal.
One of the highlights is the wooden brise-soleil and the metal sheets in the background, elements that are a reference to a Japanese rice paper door.
Formal lines and oriental simplicity define the space’s relaxing yet welcoming atmosphere. Blending into the surrounding vegetation, the terrace is a place to slow down. “I wanted to bring nature into the project. That’s why I left everything open.” , account.
