Walls can and should receive special attention in interior design because they are spaces that help create a
unique decor with
personality . And at the
CASACOR 2024 exhibitions across Brazil, there is no shortage of creative ideas thought up by architects and interior designers. Therefore, we have prepared an inspiring selection with proposals in various styles, including
wallpaper , innovative arrangements, paintings, coverings and other solutions. Check it out below and start thinking about what to do with that empty wall in your house!
1. Layered wall
Designed by architect
Maycon Altera for
CASACOR Minas Gerais , this project chooses
stone and
wood as the main elements of the living space, which exhibit a timeless aesthetic. Notice the gray stone covering that covers part of the wall, where it was possible to install the lamp and an arrangement of paintings. The furniture follows the same style as the architecture, with iconic pieces of Brazilian design, with no expiration date.
2. Bet on plants!
(Jomar Bragança / CASACOR)
This is an environment from
CASACOR Minas Gerais , created by
Michele Alves Gomes Gonçalvez , in honor of the career of artist Anna Bella Geiger. The idea was to use innovative materials and unconventional techniques to highlight a creative and experimental approach. Designed as a dynamic and welcoming living space, where the artist receives his guests, creates his works and studies, the project is like a living organism and the presence of
plants contributes to this.
Landscaping is present in every corner, but mainly on the wall, creating a kind of
vertical garden .
3. Artsy proposal
Architect
Janaína Araujo created a space consisting of a gallery, wine cellar, living room and fireplace at
CASACOR Minas Gerais , which highlights design and
contemporary works of art from Minas Gerais, set in a setting with rustic finishes and natural elements. The works were displayed on the wall covered in dark wood, which further highlights the colors and textures of the paintings and sculptures hanging at eye level.
4. Folk art revisited
Featured at
CASACOR São Paulo , the project created by architect
Gabriel Fernandes refers to
country houses and country life. When observing the space, it is impossible not to be enchanted by the bookshelf that goes up to the ceiling, where
blocks modeled by women assisted by the
Maria do Barro Institute were placed. “Each brick is unique, no one is the same as the other, and it also features a house design, modeled in relief. The
niches represent hollow checkered structures, filled with clay, from the ancient wattle and daub construction technique, also known as rammed earth. This was the way I found to exalt and pay homage to the ancestry of the Brazilian country house, within a current aesthetic language”, explains Gabriel.
5. Organic shapes
(Carolina Mossin / CASACOR)
From
Bete Said and
Victor Poiani at
CASACOR Ribeirão Preto , this bar was inspired by
Afro-Brazilian culture , precisely in the Umbanda and Candomblé terreiros, revering art and the elements of nature. There are many meanings in this space, with emphasis on colors and textures that represent elements used in the terreiros. On the wall, the composition of ceramic dishes draws attention.
6. Plates on the wall
In the house designed by interior designer
Paola Ribeiro , at
CASACOR São Paulo , there is no shortage of
affective elements that evoke family memories and memories of other times. Furthermore, the warm decoration created by the professional made the atmosphere even more cozy and creative, full of
inspiring ideas that could be copied at home. An example of this is this green wall decorated with
plates of different prints, sizes and colors, right above the tea cart used as a bar.
7. Three-dimensional elements
(Jomar Bragança / CASACOR)
At
CASACOR Brasília , architect
Mariana Leal paid tribute to Sergipe artist Jenner Augusto, her great-uncle. Therefore, he created a
gallery house , where the architecture of the past coexists with trends in an open space, permeated by family memories. Therefore, the walls are highlighted with a focus on the painter's rare works of art, which fill all the spaces in unusual arrangements.
9. Enveloped room
Under the influence of postmodernism and eclectic style,
Elisa Fraga and
Guilherme Bussamra designed a 60 m² suite that mixes styles and cultures with a fluid layout integrated with
CASACOR Brasília . In the project, it is obvious how the coverings were used. For example, ceramic tiles cover the walls and floor and
wallpaper was applied to the ceiling and part of the walls.
10. Striking color
Signed by architect
Isadora Cachoeira for
CASACOR Santa Catarina | Itapema , this environment promotes interactions and moments of communion. The design elements, marked by fluid lines and organic shapes, such as the piece that hangs from the ceiling over the sofa, create a feeling of continuity. Natural and earthy tones dominate the space, including on the walls, creating a welcoming atmosphere connected to nature.
11. Charming contrasts
Upon entering the space created by architect Jordana Battisti at
CASACOR Santa Catarina | Itapema , it is impossible not to be enchanted by the combination of
vibrant colors on the walls and the fabric sculpture on the ceiling, which brings a smooth movement. The space also displays exclusive works by artist Elis Teixeira, such as fascinating mushrooms that interact with fantasy elements, stimulating visitors' imagination.
12. Combine the prints!
Interior designer
Cacau Ribeiro created a space that, in fact, is an invitation to visitors to enjoy good memories at
CASACOR São Paulo . Everything is about the now, including the later. This is the idea that guided the environment, designed for a mature couple, who appreciate comfort, good design and the company of close friends. Enjoying life's small pleasures and creating lasting memories is the cornerstone of the space. In this corner of the kitchen, integrated into the living room, the
wall covered in checkered wallpaper and decorated with paintings reproduces this atmosphere.
13. Inspiring hinterland
Inspired by the classic "O Grande Sertão Veredas" by Guimarães Rosa, Aline Borges ' bathroom for CASACOR São Paulo 2024 travels to the heart of the backlands of Minas Gerais and rescues the family roots of the architect herself. To make this experience even more complete, Aline invited
graffiti artist Speto to project a living art on one of the walls of the room: "The
mural is a window to the country soul. In a harmonious creation, using the best of visual art, literature , the land and the landscaping, a unique, sensorial and striking set was formed for those who experience it”, describes the architect.
14. Natural atmosphere
Eduardo Bittar and
Karla Bittar created a space at
CASACOR Goiás that presents itself as a haven of serenity and authenticity. Materials such as wood, brick and textures on walls and ceilings evoke a connection to the natural environment. On the walls, the highlight is the
brick cladding, laid in a way that is different from the ordinary, which acts as a warm embrace of the earth itself.
15. Creative materials
At
CASACOR São Paulo , architect
Ana Weege delved into the roots and legacy we leave to the world. The environment created by her encourages reflection on our
human nature , our personal and collective journeys, and the importance of recognizing and honoring the complexity that makes up each of us. A trademark of the professional, creativity guided her choices.
Natural materials that promote sustainability stand out, such as natural cattail fiber columns and walls covered with coconut fiber — the same material used to produce traditional door mats and, used here, in a different and original way.
