The Portuguese Joaquim Tenreiro and the Brazilians Sergio Rodrigues, Geraldo de Barros and Oscar Niemeyer breathed new life into the material. They made straw a classic. Among contemporary designers, such as Zanini de Zanine and Gustavo Bittencourt, straw continues to gain popularity. At the 2019 edition of CASACOR São Paulo , it was no different. Straw, updated in different uses and versions, was one of the trends that won over visitors. Chairs, benches, screens, headboards and other applications expanded the possibilities of the material. While carrying memories and affection, straw brings a handmade touch and represents the desire to bring more natural materials into the home.
