Having a well-equipped, practical and beautiful kitchen is a great incentive to make most of your meals at home and, consequently, have a healthier life. In addition, this space has also become a living space for some time now, designed to welcome friends and family. That's why kitchens with integrated islands — or American kitchens — are a trend in the world of architecture that has lasted for many seasons. At CASACOR 2024, there are many ideas and you can check out a selection of them below!

1. The comfort of blue

Mandril Arquitetura - Cozinha Torno. Projeto da CASACOR São Paulo 2024. The inspiration for this kitchen with island by CASACOR São Paulo came from an experience lived by architect Bruno Reis and interior designer Helena Kallas modeling ceramics on a lathe. That is why the instrument is represented in the curved lines , which appear in details, such as the carpentry that encloses the hood, on one end of the table top — structured in metalwork — and on the back of the classic Tião chairs, by Sergio Rodrigues , which have been given new blue fabric upholstery. The color is also another highlight and appears on one of the walls, in the tiles on the countertop and in the brushstrokes on the table top.

2. Wood stove revisited

Natália Lemos - Casa Raizes do Cerrado. Projeto da CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2024. In the project by architect Natália Lemos for CASACOR Rio de Janeiro , earthy tones were used on several surfaces and create a cozy atmosphere, especially in the kitchen area with an island. The wood-burning stove , with its clay texture and minimalist design, evokes the kitchens of yesteryear, where the heat was not only physical, but emotional – a meeting point, for sharing, for stories told around the fire. The rustic wood and clay tiles on the floor convey the simplicity and strength of the cerrado, the professional's homeland.

3. Wood and art

Beta Arquitetura - Casa Darya. Projeto da CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2024. The interiors of the house designed by Beta Arquitetura at CASACOR Rio de Janeiro have a certain vintage feel. The integrated kitchen space, in turn, features a checkered floor and freijó panels , which practically envelop the space and ensure unity. The palette features neutral, pink and earthy tones to make everything even more cozy. To top it off, a work of art next to the island adds color and an artsy vibe to the project.

84. Timeless elegance

Paola Ribeiro - Living Casashopping. Projeto da CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2024. Interior designer Paola Ribeiro designed a spacious integrated living room at CASACOR Rio de Janeiro , combining a dining room, gourmet space and guest bathroom . The project balances sustainable technologies with timeless references and explores classic, modern and contemporary styles with lightness and sophistication, creating a balance between tradition and innovation. Among the standout elements are the walls covered in wood panels and an imposing gourmet counter made of Dekton.

5. Different layout

NN Architects - Brazilian Cuisine. CASACOR Bahia 2024 Project.
(Xico Diniz / CASACOR)
The Brazilian essence is the protagonist in the project byNN Arquitetos for CASACOR Bahia , which pays homage to the abundance of natural beauty, cultural richness and diversity of raw materials present in our country. One of the highlights is that the cabinets and appliances were concentrated in a single custom-made piece of furniture, with rounded corners, positioned in the middle of the room. The color palette evokes contemporary tones, with shades of green, yellow, gray and black. The coverings have a matte effect, inspired by dusty and dry natural pigments.

6. For many guests

Vorá Architecture - Palm Oil Kitchen. CASACOR Bahia 2024 Project.
(Xico Diniz / CASACOR)
Designed byOdara Machado and Víctor Calmon , this kitchen at CASACOR Bahia brings the essence of Bahian cuisine. It was designed to be a space for socializing, where the act of cooking is the highlight. The central island is made of exotic natural stone and the decor is punctuated by earthy tones and works by Bahian artists. In addition to the kitchen, the space has an entrance lounge, where the connection with cultural roots is also valued.

7. Grayscales

Michael Zanghelini - Living Amethyst. CASACOR Santa Catarina Project | Itapema 2024.
(Lio Simas / CASACOR)
The layout of this living room created by Iost Arquitetura e Design for CASACOR Santa Catarina | Itapema was designed to accommodate many people. With straight lines, the project features neutral and soft tones, allowing for woody nuances. The highlight is the exotic natural stone that covers the walls, the wine cellar and the central kitchen island.

9. Minimalist gourmet

Bia Kestering - Cosmopolita. Projeto da CASACOR Santa Catarina | Itapema 2024. Bia Kestering focused on the convergence between the world and the citizen in her loft at CASACOR Santa Catarina | Itapema , where remnants of urban life and tranquility coexist in almost 150 m². "We sought to compensate for the solidity of the ribbed slab with the lightness of organic elements and natural stones . The shades of gray contrast with the warmth of the wood that is present," explains the professional.

10. Futuristic stainless steel

Thayane Santana Architecture & Interiors - Neo Femme. CASACOR Santa Catarina Project | Itapema 2024.
(Lio Simas / CASACOR)
In Thayane Santana 's kitchen with island presented at CASACOR Santa Catarina | Itapema , elegant curves connect with the custom-made furniture and meet the walls and ceiling, which stand out due to the flexible LED lighting profiles. The color palette is neutral and consists of shades of white, gray and stainless steel that, together, create a high-tech atmosphere completed with stronger and more vibrant colors, such as blue and red in specific places.

11. Various patterns

Bruna Tuon Sposito - Living Refúgio de Memórias. Projeto da CASACOR Santa Catarina | Florianópolis 2024. Designed by Bruna Tuon Sposito , this living room at CASACOR Santa Catarina | Florianópolis combines the countryside and the sea in a visual and sensorial harmony. The professional opted for antique pieces and inserted contemporary works by designers and artisans, symbolizing renewal. In the kitchen area, a greenish stone gives shape to the countertop, central island and backsplash , evoking a natural air to the space.

12. Affectionate cuisine

Rafaela Bruna - Cozinha Ítalo-mineira. Projeto da CASACOR Minas Gerais 2024. At CASACOR Minas Gerais , the kitchen designed by Rafaela Bruna displays a Sicilian lemon tree and a jabuticaba tree, which already give clues as to how Minas Gerais and Italy, especially Sicily, have similarities in art and gastronomy. Here, the two cultures come together to offer a sensorial experience, as a reminder of vita lenta , a celebration of life and the world, a moment of suspension of reality.

13. Highlight on the wall

Matheus Menezes - Kitchen. CASACOR Sergipe 2024 Project.
(Gabriela Daltro / CASACOR)
The world of fashion inspires the minimalist kitchen design, designed by Matheus Menezes at CASACOR Sergipe . Elements of haute couture influence the project that pays homage to the transformation and inclusion that fashion has brought throughout history. The natural landscape printed on the wallpaper stands out, welcoming the essentially sober space. Black has a strong presence and is present in the furniture, stone countertop, sink and metals. The floating countertop completes the space with lightness and sophistication.
