David Bastos designs apartment in Switzerland full of signature design

Located in Geneva , this 150 m² duplex penthouse was purchased by a single, childless Brazilian businessman (who lives part of the year in Switzerland and part in Brazil) when the building – designed by famous Swiss architect Philippe Meyer – was still under construction. To adapt the new property to the tastes and needs of the new owner, architect David Bastos , from the DB Arquitetos office and part of the CASACOR Rio de Janeiro team, came into play, making few architectural changes to the construction company's plan, at the client's own request. “Our project sought a clean, slightly minimalist architecture , with finishes in sober colors , including some earthy tones , so as not to take away the prominence of the external landscape , which is beautiful and the highlight of the property”, explains David. The lower floor has a living room with an integrated office, a dining room with an integrated kitchen , two suites and a balcony , while the upper floor has a gourmet area with a terrace and a washroom. In the decoration, which follows a timeless contemporary style , all the furniture and ornaments were chosen according to the project specifications, with the majority of designs signed by renowned names on the international scene.

In the dining room integrated into the kitchen, the Morgan dining chairs (by Antonio Citterio ) are from Flexform and the Dama side table is from R&D Poliform . In the office, the highlights are the Verba Volant desk (by Roberto Lazzeroni ), from Baxter , the Vossia work chair (by Giuseppe Casarosa ), from Ceccotti Collezioni , and the Chiara armchair with pouf (by Francesco Binfaré ), from Edra . In the master suite, international design also prevails, such as the bedside table (by Emmanuel Gallina ), from Kelly Poliform , and the Metropolitan armchair (by Jeffrey Bernett ), from B&B Italia . On the suite's balcony, Paola Lenti 's creations steal the show, such as the Cove armchair (by F. Rota ), the Strep side table (by V Carrasco ) and the Berry pouf (by CRS ). In the gourmet area on the upper floor, the table, stools and sofa are by Cane Line . All the photographs ( fine art ) spread throughout the apartment are by photographer Tuca Reines and were chosen by the client together with architect David Bastos.
