CASACOR Brasília 2018: an interactive environment to enjoy craftsmanship
In 2018, the official Sebrae crafts store at CASACOR Brasília 2018 was designed by architects Julyanne Alves and Aline Ferreira. With sensitivity and delicacy, the 88 m² space seeks to offer a place for visitors to interact with the works. The Space Made by Mão is organized into islands of interest and features personalized lighting and furniture, which prioritizes comfort, exemplified by original armchairs from the 1950s and 1960s and other pieces of national design. The materials are in tune with CASACOR 's 2018 theme , The Living House : wood – predominantly – rope and dry branches. A wattle and daub wall pays due homage to traditional construction techniques of the backlands, and the greenery is brought in by a vertical garden in the shape of a mandala, which includes several species and foliage. Red mannequins attract attention and practically invite you to try on the necklaces, earrings and accessories for sale. The professionals were concerned with creating not only a store, but a place of experiences for visitors and also a showcase and promotion for Brasilia's production. “We carried out a study based on the latest exhibitions and analyzed how the public behaved in front of the space and how architecture could influence the interest of visitors. From there, we came up with an innovative proposal, moving away from the purely commercial concept, but seeking a space that values art and design, like a gallery”, explain the professionals.
