The young couple wanted an apartment that felt like home when they called on architect
Bárbara Dundes – from
CASACOR São Paulo – to revamp the
150 m² property they had purchased off-plan in the Vila Madalena neighborhood (SP). They asked for a better view and also for a home office integrated with the master suite, since the resident usually works late.
"
There is a lot of light, especially the afternoon sun , which guided the project to use the view to our advantage, creating a wooden box, like a frame for the landscape. The beam of light also brings the feeling of home into the apartment", says the professional.
Since the clients like to entertain and cook, the
living room and
kitchen were integrated, but a folding door can separate the rooms if necessary. The same material covers the floor and ceiling, creating unity and integration. The free-standing furniture divides the functions into sectors.
"Our goal was to have a kitchen that was very dynamic.
The stools were designed for quick meals , creating continuity with the living room area," he explains.
The balcony was integrated into the social area and received soft stone on the barbecue wall , to also give the feeling of a house. The furniture is a great selection of designer pieces: there are pieces by Artefacto, a Clami sofa, tables and bar cart by Jader Almeida, a bench by Gustavo Bittencourt, chairs and sofa by Guilherme Wentz and a swing by De Carvalho Atelie.
The TV was installed where the original circulation to the private area would be. The slatted woodwork hides all the electronic accessories and wires. The main material that stands out throughout the project is the natural Tauari wood.
Finally, the initial configuration of three suites gave way to a master suite with his and hers bathrooms, a home office that can be integrated and a closet.
