Part of classic decoration, boiserie is a type of application made on walls that aims to make them more elaborate and beautiful . It consists of nothing more than a kind of rectangular or square frame , sometimes made of wood, sometimes of plaster and even of Styrofoam; which, in addition to ornamentation, provides thermal comfort for the room .
Until today seen as a symbol of elegance and sophistication , the boiserie was once restricted to illustrious places, such as government offices and historic buildings, but over time it has also been used in the interior of contemporary residential projects .
