Architect Carol Barreto , in her third participation in CASACOR Bahia 2024 , presents the project Bangalô Terra e Mar - Uma Experiência Breton - Hotel Boutique , an environment that reflects a deep connection between contemporary sophistication and the surrounding nature. Inspired by the hotel function of the Bahia Othon Palace Hotel and its privileged landscape, the project is an invitation to an immersive experience in an environment that combines comfort, biophilic design and stunning views of the sea of Salvador.

The concept behind the 96 m² bungalow was conceived based on the integration between the building and its natural surroundings , resulting in a modern building with simple architectural lines and a structure that harmonizes with the local vegetation. “The space is located outside the hotel – the former green area of Othon. The architectural project takes the surroundings into account, and the color of the ocean in the space also alludes to the turquoise blue of the sea,” explains Carol.

For the interior design, the architect used a palette of earthy tones , beige and turquoise blue , creating an environment that conveys tranquility, connecting with the concept of “land and sea” in the finishes, coverings and works of art. The architect integrated biophilic design into the project through carefully selected natural materials , such as clay, represented by clay coverings, and natural stone , represented by hijau stone (a strong trend in décor), elements that evoke the strength of the environment and allude to the immersion of human beings in nature .

Among the highlights of the space, the exclusive tapestry by artist Carolina Kroff serves as a central piece, connecting the different environments, while the furniture designed by Breton provides comfort and well-being to the users. “Finally, the landscaping , well-placed in strategic places in the internal environments, brings a feeling of warmth and welcome, highlighting the intimate and unforgettable concept”, concludes Carol.

“The building conveys lightness through its floating structure, embraced by the landscaping and highlighted by well-designed lighting. The bungalow invites you to the sea with portals created by the large trees in the background,” adds the architect.
