At the 30th edition of CASACOR Paraná , the Curitiba-based architecture firm Arquitetare , led by Elaine Zanon and Claudia Machado, is making its ninth appearance at the show, presenting the Deca Refuge project. “We received a very special invitation from CASACOR and Deca, a leading company in the Brazilian ceramics and metals market, which couldn’t make us happier,” says Elaine Zanon. The project is an urban glass space that integrates nature and water to provide well-being and serenity. Inspired by elements from ancient cultures, the project invites pause and presence, promoting personal and environmental connections.

Claudia Machado explains: “Refugio Deca is an escape from the frenetic routine, a place to disconnect from the outside world and look within yourself.” With an area of approximately 100m², the challenge was to create a space that encourages self-knowledge and connection with one’s own essence.

The lighting design uses warm light inside and a lighter tone in the garden outside, enhancing the surrounding nature. Aromatherapy and sounds that inspire tranquility are also part of the composition. Elaine Zanon e Claudia Machado - Refúgio DECA. “To convey the theme ‘ As a gift, the present ’, we created spaces where every detail encourages awareness of the present moment,” says Claudia. Materials such as travertine marble, black metal structure and extra clear glass, in addition to Deca products, stand out in the space. Elaine Zanon highlights: “Travertine marble translates antiquity reinterpreted in a contemporary context. It is a silent echo of the millennia, a bridge between eras.”

The furniture includes the Fita Armchair by Guilherme Wentz and the Pedra Armchair, which complement the space’s stone concept with a more fluid and uncluttered proposal. In addition to aesthetics, the project incorporates a strong commitment to sustainability , reflected in solutions such as reusable modular construction, high-performance thermal materials and a water reuse system.
