Widely used in civil construction structures, Corten steel is three times more resistant to corrosion than regular steel, which makes it more durable and even more common for decoration. Many professionals at
Casa Cor Paraná have taken advantage of this trend and brought the material into their spaces. Check out three creative ways to use it. In the “Contemporary Woman’s Room”, architect Samara Barbosa used the raw material in a sheet with several leaf-shaped cutouts that delimit and divide the bedroom from the living room.
In the “Arauco Reception, Café and Gourmet Square”, designed by architect Renata Pisani and landscaper Ana Augusta Lupion, the material is used in overlapping laser-cut panels, which create an optical illusion as the observer moves, changing their perspective. “It has a finish that, combined with the pearlescent surface, highlights the characteristic shine of the corten steel sheet”, explains Renata.

In the “Executive Studio”, designed by architects Cristiane Maciel and Sony Luczyszyn, from ArqTríade, the fireplace wall was covered with corten steel sheets, bringing traces of modernity and sobriety, creating contrast with the use of mirrors in the masculine environment.
