Marked by the inauguration of spring and welcoming the end of the year, the month of September also opens its doors to a series of unmissable cultural events in the city of São Paulo . September's cultural agenda starts off intensely in the first few weeks, with highlights including the Giséla Colon exhibition at the Artium Institute, the reconstruction of the Teatro Cultura Artística and the inauguration of Casa Bradesco , a new space for creativity in the Avenida Paulista region. In addition, Japan House has extended the duration of the exhibition 'Efeito Japão: moda em 15 atos', which has been a hit with the public. Organized by independent curator Simon Watson , the exhibition seeks to spark a dialogue between the artist’s luminescent organic sculptures and the historic neoclassical architecture of the Stahl Palace, home of the Artium Institute. Cólon’s environmental art sculptures and installations explore human perception and challenge viewers to experience transformations in space in real time.

2. Opening of Casa Bradesco, with an exhibition by Anish Kapoor

With over five thousand m² , the cultural space located in the Avenida Paulista region is the latest launch of the partnership between Bradesco and Cidade Matarazzo. The ALI environment will be dedicated to children's creativity and will allow children to explore their artistic skills in a playful and interactive way; the ACIMA will bring a laboratory focused on the development of young people in the various expressions of art; and the ABAIXO multilingual room will offer a diverse and immersive program. The conceptual design for Casa Bradesco was conceived by Italian-French architect Rudy Ricciotti , known for designing monumental and highly experimental works, such as the exterior of the Philharmonie Nikolaisaal in Germany, the Department of Islamic Arts at the Louvre Museum and the MuCEM, both in France.

3. Reopening of the Teatro Cultura Artística

Opened in 1950 by a concert by Heitor Villa-Lobos and Camargo Guarnieri, Teatro Cultura Artística was one of the largest cultural complexes in Latin America until a fire in 2008 destroyed two performance halls and closed the venue ever since. After years of reconstruction, the venue was restored and reopened on August 25, 2024. The month of September is filled with a schedule of concerts and other musical performances to celebrate the reopening of Cultura Artística.
