The
Embassy of Portugal in Brazil and
Camões – CCP Brasília are open with the opening of the exhibition "
Mulheres Saramaguianas ", which revisits the female fictional universe of Portuguese writer
José Saramago . The exhibition – free entry – is located at Galeria Camões at the Embassy of Portugal, in Brasília, and was opened last Monday (27th) – the occasion on which World Theater Day was also celebrated.
Unprecedented in Brazil, the exhibition was created based on the album of the same name, conceived as part of the centenary of the Nobel Prize for Literature, in a partnership between the José Saramago Foundation and the Portuguese Screen Printing Center. Drawing inspiration from Saramago's female characters, six prestigious artists –
José de Guimarães ,
Graça Morais ,
Manuel João Vieira ,
Joana Villaverde ,
Miguel Januário and
Ana Romãozinho – created unprecedented serigraphs and engravings which, in turn, also served as a motto for the texts of notable Portuguese writers – among them,
Lídia Jorge ,
Ana Luísa Amaral ,
Djamila Pereira de Andrade ,
Ana Margarida Carvalho ,
Dulce Maria Cardoso and
Adriana Lisboa .
