Wherever you look, a playful item to be surprised and want to take home : this was
CASACOR São Paulo in 2021, which spread unusual and completely out-of-the-box decorative objects throughout its environments that played with the public's perception of what is "real architecture". After all, what would a realistic home be without a
piece of decor with a funny story behind it that becomes the favorite of your guests? Whether due to the surprise they generate, or the
air of lightness they brought to the environments, it is undeniable that
playful art was
a hit at the exhibition. Much more explored than in other years, in 2021, the playful pieces brought back the grace and relief of a pre-pandemic life – and how good! Below, we list some ideas that won over the public – and us, in the editorial team – who were at the exhibition in São Paulo. Check it out!
1. The giant bear from Noah's Room

You need to start from the beginning. How can we not remember the
giant bear that acted as host in the
Noah Room ?
Gregory Coppello 's project, debuting at the São Paulo show, managed to fit a large wooden bear into its small dimensions
without weighing down the look of the space – which, with a minimalist vocation, was planned as a temple of relaxation and meditation.
2. The entire Perspective Gallery environment
Ana Weege elevated the concept of playful design to another power and created an environment where, truly, everything the eye lands on has a playful character. But some items are worth a special mention, such as the
corn-shaped table that attracts all the attention as soon as you enter the room. It is also worth highlighting the work of art in the shape of
a sardine can applied to the wall above the sofa and the
mirror with a psychedelic feel in the background of the composition.
3. The girl on the swing

This one is hard to miss: in front of the large golden wall in
Brunete Fraccaroli 's room, an unusual item:
a girl playing on a swing . The work, in addition to perfectly matching the white and gold aesthetic of the environment, brings a playful air with an ideal portion of surprise.
4. Hands in the environment by Pedro Luiz de Marqui

There is a lot to elucidate in
Pedro Luiz de Marqui 's environment. Whether it's the provocative painting on the bed or the colorful works in the living room, there are two items that may have missed the less trained eye:
the two hands hanging in different ways in the room . One of them, in the form of a lamp, is like a rubber glove that points, with its index "finger", to the lamp that serves as a lamp next to the bed.
In the exhibition as a whole, it was possible to find installations on the walls with
phrases from the most diverse themes: from making people laugh, to causing astonishment and even to provoking reflection , as is the case with this one from
Casa Égide . Positioned on the headboard of the bed, the phrase "
it's all fantasy " was framed by gold paper with a light reflection and a light wooden frame.
6. Sans Tache's paint bucket
Sans Tache brought a playful object that is worth highlighting: a
bucket of paint being poured over a stack of books , an artistic installation that balances on its own "puddle" of paint. Note that the books are real, while the bucket creates a moment of
frozen action over them.
7. The swimmer from Casa Tempo
Outside
Casa Tempo , a
tiny house equipped with everything necessary for living, there was a
reflecting pool that surrounded the entire perimeter of the residence. To play with the water that was there,
Ticiane Lima decided to include, in the wooden panels that cover the space, a
small diver – with a float, cap and everything . Under a golden springboard, the little swimmer has a good chance of having gone unnoticed by less attentive visitors.
8. This half-human, half-whale head
This is to
play with perception , in an optical illusion style. On the coffee table at the
Livraria , a project by Luciana Paraiso that rescues the pleasure of reading habits, there is a piece that is, to say the least, unusual:
a head that, from the front, looks human , but looked at from the side, reveals a tail like that of a whale. How would you interpret the play?
9. The cute teddy bear in the Apartment Living Room
(Salvador Cordaro/CASACOR)
To finish our list, a dose of cuteness. In the
Apartment's Living Room , a project with
an art deco feel –
Paulo Azevedo 's trademark –, there is an item that no one expected to find: a
stuffed bear sitting on the sofa to welcome visitors. In addition to the cuteness, the little animal also contributed to giving the space an
aura of a real home . You have no doubt that it was a success, right?
