Since its opening in May 2017, Japan House has become an essential cultural and tourist attraction for São Paulo residents, especially those interested in oriental culture. In April, the venue will host new and beautiful exhibitions that reveal yet another time, how the characteristics of a people are reflected in art.
In the exhibition “Oscar Oiwa in Paradise – Drawing the Ephemeral” , the architect and artist, graduated from FAU-USP, invites visitors to enter the dreamlike universe of his drawings. The experience is completely immersive, since, among the selected works, there is the installation Paraíso, an inflatable balloon that contains a 360º illustration.
On April 3rd, Oiwa will be at Japan House for guided tours. The activity is free, but places are limited.
Leaving behind the graphics, but not the enchantment, is the exhibition "Prototyping in Tokyo - Shunji Yamanaka" , which opened on March 27. The exhibition, which will be open until May 13, is a gathering of prototypes of creations . The aim is to show how close technology, beauty and, consequently, art are in the Japanese world.
With several interactive pieces, the exhibition invites visitors to arouse their curiosity through contemplation. In the prototypes, it is possible to see, together, the technological present and the artisanal and artistic past.
