After two years of waiting, the Broadway Museum has opened its doors to the public in Times Square , the heart of the iconic theater district. New York City, known for opening numerous galleries and museums, had yet to have a space dedicated to the history of the from Broadway.

The Broadway Museum showcases over 500 productions from the 18th century to the present day. Visitors can take a walk down memory lane and learn more about the history of the city's legendary theater district , which was located in midtown Manhattan in the 1850s. in Union Square, and reached Times Square in the early 1900s .

In addition to delving into Broadway's rich history, attendees will be able to marvel at props and costumes from a variety of iconic shows, from the red dress worn by the lead actress in "Annie" to more elaborate outfits featured in "The Phantom of the Opera."
Through immersive projections and stage performances that only Broadway can do, the museum answers any questions visitors might have about how a musical's backstage works : from its creation to the day of the show.

The invitation to go behind the curtain introduces audiences to the making of a Broadway musical and pays homage to the community of talented professionals – both onstage and off – who bring plays and musicals to life every night in New York City.
