Starting on February 14, big names will be taking part in the exhibition
"Every other week: Landscapes, bodies and everyday life between a century" at
Casa Zalszupin in São Paulo: works by Di Cavalcanti, Tarsila do Amaral, Vicente do Rego Monteiro, Victor Brecheret, Ismael Nery and Antônio Gomide are accompanied by works by contemporary artists such as Castiel Vitorino Brasileiro, Lais Myrrha, Thiago Martins de Melo and Rafael RG. Furniture by architect Gregori Warchavchik and painter, sculptor and engraver Lasar Segall are also present. The exhibition at
Casa Zalszupin , a cultural space managed by ETEL and Almeida & Dale, takes place between February 14 and March 12 and celebrates the
centenary of the 1922 Modern Art Week .
The title
"Every other week" creates an ambiguous play on words, between the iconic cultural reference that Modern Art Week has become, and the everyday connotation of this temporal term. The proposal also invokes a movement that presupposes oppositions and dichotomies: event and erasure, memory and forgetting, past and present, 1922 and 2022.
