1st Art Design Village: Check out what's going on!

The 1st edition of the Art Design Village will take place from August 12 to 16 at the Jockey Club in São Paulo and will be a cluster of design events, including the Art Fair , MADE – Art and Design Market , the Design Fair and the High Design Expo Fair . In addition to being a Design Weekend HUB, it will feature the participation of several professionals from CASA COR. Check out the list and descriptions of the attractions below and get ready for the week that serves as a catwalk for brands and professionals in São Paulo. MADE MADE: Its 3rd edition will bring a genuine experience of the design universe, with a setting rich in activations, attractions and ideas for the public. Organized by W/Design, by Waldick Jatobá, it brings together in a single location design galleries , with around thirty professionals in the collective space, installations, exhibitions and a daily agenda of dialogues with the participation of big names in the segment. Among the highlights, a tribute to the designer of the year, Marcelo Rosenbaum; the participation of the Campana Brothers with an installation at the entrance of the event; international exhibitions on Dutch , Danish, Belgian and Portuguese design, the Culumus installation created by young people from Berlin, the Artesol Exhibition , the Indigenous Exhibition , the Design Collectors Club Exhibition and the Lina Bo Bardi Wall Auction . salão de arte Art Fair: Organized by Vera Lucia Chaccur Chadad, the event is in its 22nd edition, bringing together the most important professionals in the areas of art, design, architects, art dealers and antique dealers working in Brazil. One of the highlights will be the fitting tribute to Tomie Ohtake , in the form of a special exhibition curated by Ricardo Othake, Tomie's son. There will also be the traditional charity night on the 10th, with all proceeds from the tickets going to Strong X, an NGO that works to benefit people with Fragile X Syndrome. The Fair is attended by over 10,000 opinion makers, including artists, journalists and art lovers, with refined habits, good taste and high purchasing power, looking for opportunities to acquire goods and pieces, which they consider to be a good investment option. There will be over 60 participants, in an area of 3,000 m², with an expected attendance of around 18,000. salão design Salão Design: Sindmóveis Bento Gonçalves will hold four events at the Art Design Village. These are exhibitions and special events designed to further strengthen design as a competitive advantage for the furniture industry. The Salão Design Award will be the star of the event, with the first exhibition of winners and finalists outside of Serra Gaúcha, totaling 64 pieces. In partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), the international seminar “Form Follows Matter” will be held on August 12, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with three leading figures in contemporary design: Italian Clino Trini Castelli, Chilean Cristian Domínguez, and Brazilian Brunno Jahara. Also in partnership with Apex-Brasil, there will be an exhibition of products designed by Brazilian designers for export and an unprecedented edition of the Buyer's Project with foreign designers and guests. These events focus on positioning Brazilian design in the foreign market, with an emphasis on the United States. HIGH_DESIGN_RGB-02-274x388 High Design Home & Office Expo: Informa Group and Summit Promo, creators of Design Weekend (DW!), officially launch High Design – Home & Office Expo, which will arrive in São Paulo in 2016, with the goal of becoming the country's leading international furniture design event. Created based on the experience of Casa Brasil, held by Sindmóveis in Bento Gonçalves, High Design Expo will be officially launched during DW! São Paulo. High Design Expo will bring together the main trends, innovations and launches in high-end furniture, custom and designer furniture, kitchen and bathroom solutions, surfaces and light design, presented by leading national and international companies, with over 100 exhibiting brands. Several activities linked to the exhibition will be held, such as furniture design and decorative objects displays, award ceremonies, international lectures and happenings, including the Hugo França Exhibition with a piece donated by the designer for the “Tears of Joy Project – Preservation and Recovery of Native Flora in São Paulo” and a Happy Hour that will take place every day from 6 pm to 8 pm. MARKO Atelier Marko Brajovic: Atelier Marko Brajovic is carrying out the NSDC Project : a partnership between the Museu da Cidade, Harvard University and the City of São Paulo, and a tribute to Lina Bo Bardi. In this project, the grids of the Historical Archive will be converted into prototypes for use by citizens. SACCARO Cappadocia Exhibition : Promoted by Saccaro, the exhibition features a reproduction of the sky with balloons from the Cappadocia region in Turkey. In celebration of 30 years of authorial design, the brand is launching a collection designed by Roque Frizzo and installed in a playful and conceptual way by renowned architect Guilherme Torres. LOUNGE CASA COR CASA COR Lounge : a space dedicated to lectures and to highlighting renowned professionals and young designers, as explained by Pedro Ariel Santana, curator of DW!
