“Imaginary Landscapes” was the theme chosen by the curators to guide the programming schedule, created to reflect and present real models of integration and
dialogue of the most varied artistic strands , highlighting music, literature, theater, dance, cinema and visual arts, bringing together representatives from Brazil and abroad.

According to the
festival's curator and artistic director, Luiz Gustavo Carvalho , Minas Gerais is a state that has a direct relationship with real and imaginary landscapes, since it was one of the
most devastated regions throughout history due to the exploitation of its real and immaterial riches . In the minds of the men who "explored" the land, the territory was perceived as a kind of paradisiacal place, creating a kind of imaginary landscape capable of bringing together the real, the invented, the extinct and the projected.

In this sense, the
Artes Vertentes Festival program seeks to elucidate and oxygenate concepts, in addition to promoting a series of immersive experiences involving the most diverse artistic manifestations, including analyses of relevant themes from our history. At the same time, it celebrates creation and the possibilities of connection between the media, enhancing artistic creation and enjoyment.
