Architecture is always transforming and reinventing itself according to the current moment in society. After all, it emerges as a tool to offer people what they desire, in the most intimate place of their lives: their own homes. For this reason, every year
new trends in architecture and decoration emerge, whether in the color palette, the use of a specific material or even the stronger presence of a style. But after all, what are these trends? And most importantly,
which ones should we consider ?
stay in 2022 and the next years? CASACOR 's exhibitions are stages for revealing new trends, and so we spoke with
Thiago Manarelli and Ana Paula Guimarães, from the Manarelli Guimarães Office, Gabriel de Lucca, from GDL Arquitetura and Tufi Mousse, from Tufi Mousse Arquitetura , who told us a little about what are the prospects for the new year. Next, check out the main trends in architecture, according to CASACOR professionals!
Ceramics
The search for
sustainable materials has become a concern among architects and interior designers. Architect
Tufi Mousse believes that the use of ceramics will become stronger both in 2022 and in the coming years. For him, they will be on the rise " the boldest ceramic coverings, with colors, more details, personality and unusual prints".
Even those that follow a more neutral tone, such as the classic earth tones, should still establish themselves as trends, according to the architect. "The
earth tone will still be very strong throughout this decade, especially those that are worked in
textures, shapes and relief. differentiated ".
Colored woods
Another trend highlighted by Tufi Mousse is the use of
wood with different and unusual colors . The use of more vibrant colors, even if harmonized with a neutral base, has been more constant, and colored woods come into play to make this easier. and exclusive at the same time. The advantage of colored wood, according to him, is that it is capable of "better showing the personality and the message that we want to convey in each project", he concludes.
Color game
For
Gabriel de Lucca , from GDL Arquitetura, the pandemic context is reflected (and greatly) in the decoration of environments. For this reason, he mentions the technique of
cross ventilation and the constancy of
natural lighting for environments more emphatically in 2022. "Its use will be more frequent, taking into account pandemic and well-being contexts. Although it is within the reach of the entire society, it must be implemented in the development phase of the architectural project."
Conscious consumption
With an eye on sustainability, Gabriel de Lucca also highlights that actions that have a
greener footprint will also prove to be a strong trend for the coming years, whether in the use of more rational construction systems or in the reuse of equipment and raw materials to avoid waste and the exploitation of new natural resources.
A look inside
Partners
Thiago Manarelli and Ana Paula Guimarães , from the
Manarelli Guimarães Office , have a different view of trends. For them, it is necessary to think of personalized elements that go far beyond what is "in fashion", and for this reason, they warn of the risk of betting too much on trends and using something that will be out of date in a few months. "Architecture cannot be like a fashion show where you change the collection every six months."
One of the issues he pointed out, and which promises to remain strong in 2022, is taking a
closer look at one's own home . "We went through a very bad period, and it made people start looking inside... their home, from the closets, from work and thinking about what is strictly necessary to maintain organization", they say. There is no denying that people began to look for things that would make them feel more welcome, since their homes became
synonymous with health and safety , and the desire to make this transparent in architecture was a milestone that promises to continue even more than ever before.
Projects with more personality
If in the past people chose furniture and other elements of their homes based on functionality, today, looking for a
style that brings comfort and also reflects one's own personality is on the rise. For the partners at Manarelli Guimarães Law Firm, this "looking inward" also brought a new trend:
not to accumulate different items, but to acquire those that best suit the resident. "People don't want to have things just for the sake of having them. They want comfort: to be in the living room, lie on the sofa, put their feet on the table, cook without fear of getting dirty or damaging it.
They are enjoying their own home ," they say.
