Tropical Restaurant explores biophilia in project that exalts nature

A restaurant that values the flavor of life was the proposal of Gustavo Paschoalim and Frederico Cançado for the " Tropical Restaurant " project at CASACOR São Paulo 2022. The space housed the gastronomy and drinks of the Badebec restaurant, which has a cuisine totally in synergy with the decoration of the space (light, tasty food, with a variety of buffet foods). The space was designed to be an environment where you can take a break, enjoy yourself, socialize, chat with friends, and, of course, enjoy the food. Positioned in the middle of the CASACOR route, between Alameda Santos and Rua Augusta, The idea is precisely to offer an environment for visitors to have lunch and recharge their batteries. The restaurant was developed based on the lines outlined for the garden, with references to the combination of an architectural landmark by David Libeskind, with organic curves inspired by Burle Marx. Nature entered the scene in abundance, but enhancing some important cosmopolitan features. This is because the Conjunto Nacional , the building that is hosting CASACOR this year, is listed and therefore, the revitalization of the spaces needed to be more focused on bringing comfort than on changing the structural part. Highlight for the slab that was completely maintained and brings a modernist touch to the project. The restaurant has a generous 650 m², well distributed in a responsive layout that allows for the buffet, as well as tables and chairs to welcome visitors and Badebec professionals. The decor offers endless possibilities and a mix of styles and curved and straight shapes. The palette is cheerful with a predominance of green, salmon and gold, which bring lightness and a more casual feel to a calm and elegant atmosphere. Furthermore, the décor has a slightly retro composition thanks to the furniture from the 60s and 70s designed by the studio itself and other Brazilian designers, which blend with the contemporary sculpture by artist Bia Dori; a work of art, entitled Deer Skull, by Manoel Vitor; the canvas by the artist Dani Tranchesi; and painting by the artist Túnica Barbosa.
