The most attentive perceive nature as a vital part of existence: it is nature that takes us from the outside to the inside. A refuge amidst the concrete, Praça SER , designed by architect Julyanne Alves , is a breath of fresh air for visitors to CASACOR Brasília this year. The 300 m² space celebrates Brazilianness with a rich diversity of plants and original pieces by Brazilian artists.

The square draws attention mainly due to the exuberance of its garden , with a variety of textures and dense botanical species full of movement. The space also features other elements of great aesthetic appeal that pay homage to Brazilian design: an armchair by Tunico Lages , the Neoclipes sculpture by artist Sanagê and a series of handmade clay vases .

“The project aims to provide visitors with contact with creative landscape architecture that allows them to contemplate different forms. The textures, plants, fluid and loose shapes and the authenticity of the space carry some of my fond memories. The result is a portrait of my passion for landscaping ,” explains the architect. In addition to personal experiences, Julyanne brought references from studies on Brazilian gardens, drawing inspiration mainly from landscape architect Alex Hanazaki.

In addition to the vegetation and clay in the pots, drywall and wood were also used. The care was not only aesthetic. The environment was developed using sustainable materials and clean construction . In this way, Praça SER marks the architect's return to CASACOR after a four-year hiatus. This is her third participation in the exhibition , which has the theme Body & Home .
