Nildo José, a debut professional at
CASA COR São Paulo 2016 , signs
Estúdio Jabuticaba , a space designed to celebrate, the theme of the 2016 edition of the exhibition. In the 44 m² space, what catches the attention of those who visit is a concrete bench built into the wall that runs through the four spaces of the place. According to the architect, the idea for the piece comes from the thought "at a good party, there's always room for one more". "The important thing is the spirit of fraternization between family and friends. The idea of the bench makes a direct analogy with the spirit of
CASA COR 's three-decade anniversary. There is no exact limit of people sitting here in the space, there is always room for one more !” jokes architect Nildo José.
In addition to holding several people, the bench has several other uses: right at the entrance it serves as a cloakroom, inspired by New York lofts, with support for visitors' bags, hats and personal belongings. Next, the furniture becomes a shopping stand, where a parked bicycle and a basket of products humanize the project. Entering the space, you pass by the conceptual bar, also supported by a bench with wooden boxes. Following the sequence, straight ahead, the furniture serves as two seats for the dining table. In this space, he has two pillows for back support. And it doesn't end there. The bench also serves as a support for fireplace logs and functions on the other side as a sofa side table. After all this journey, the furniture finally assumes its exclusive function of being a bench, until it reaches the bedroom, where it takes the place of a nightstand for the bed, also designed by the young architect, for Codex Home. And finally, the piece works as a towel holder in the bathtub area.
Still in the environment, the bathroom draws attention because it is a black box lined with ebonized wood, with a concrete interior. Works of art also add charm to the space, which was curated by the architect himself, via Instagram and visits to galleries; therefore, "they are new and talented artists little known by the general public mixed with established names: Gil Vicente, Alexandre Matos, Martin Parr, Guilherme Licurgo, Sergio Lucena - among others".
